Amibo figurine for HHD?

Can you ACNL figurines (eg. Mabel) in HHD?
I know you can use the Smash villager amibo (which i own)
(i know Lottie and Mabel have an amiibo card, which i dont own but i own the figurines)

I tried this before, and they work like Amiibo Cards do. So go ahead and try.

They do work like their card counterpart.

I have more amiibo figures than SC amiibo cards, and used them to do their houses.
