AC:WW Events Guide

Welcome to the Animal Crossing: Wild World Holidays Guide! Here, you may learn all about the different holidays in the game. Remember, the clock in all Animal Crossing games is the same as it is in real life, so if you're planning on celebrating, say, New Year's Eve in the game, you'll have to stay up until midnight! Most holidays offer a reward/gift of some kind, so it's definitely worth the effort!

January

New Year's Day
Date: January 1st
Beginning: All Day
End: Midnight

Tortimer is wandering around the Town Hall, and he's in a festive mood. So festive, in fact, that he's going to present you with a fortune. You'll need to have some space for letters, since it is in the form of a letter. Remember not to take anything that it says TOO seriously, as it may not be what you're expecting! Just in case you don't like the fortune, talk to Tortimer multiple times to get different ones. Also, remember to talk to the local residents for some festive conversations.

La-Di-Day
Date: 2nd Saturday in January
Beginning: 6AM
End: 6PM the next day

On this day, all of your villagers will be anxious to change your town's Town Tune; merely speak with them to hear their wonderful - or sometimes not - musical pieces. You can either choose to have that song as your town's new Town Tune, or talk to different animals for something you like better; even if you choose a song, you can always talk to another animal and change it to something else.

Fishing Tournament
Date: 3rd Sunday in January
Beginning: 12PM
End: 6PM

The Fishing Tournament lets you participate - along with the animals - in a contest in which only the biggest and longest fish can win. You may use any fish you had before the contest, too (To submit fish, take them to Tortimer and talk to him). If you beat a current record, you will get a prize from the mayor. If you manage to hold through the day and beat out all the competition, you'll get the Fishing Trophy on the next day in a letter. The winner's name will be posted on the Bulletin Board for all to see.

Yay Day
Date: 4th Sunday in January
Beginning: 6AM
End: 6AM the next day

Your neighbors are great folks, and since you like them so much, why not sweet talk 'em? On this day, when you talk to your neighbors, they will give you an opportunity to compliment them by letting you type out - via an on-screen keyboard - your compliment. Typically, one word compliments work best, although you can be as creative as you like. There are no gifts to be received on this day, though, so your only reward is tinkering around with your neighbors' feelings.

February

Flea Market
Date: 1st Saturday in February
Beginning: 6AM
End: 6AM the next day

As much as you like shopping at Tom Nook's place, you know that there's always been that Apple TV that the Nookmeister never had and that a certain neighbor of yours flashes all the time. Today is your chance to go and grab that item! That is, not for free; you may enter a villager's house, and they may sell that item to you. More or less, this is like a town-wide garage sale, and you can participate; villagers may enter your house and ask if they can buy some of your items. What the villager offers you in terms of Bells is dependant on your relationship with him/her, so keep that in mind.

Bright Nights
Date: 2nd Week in February
Beginning: 6AM Monday
End: Voting ends Saturday, winner announced on Sunday

The villagers in your town will decorate their houses with Christmas-esque lights, and it's your duty to judge them. Talk to Tortimer and tell him which house you like best (this will be the winner throughout the week), and then go to that villager to tell them the good news; they'll thank you for choosing them. Keep in mind that you cannot decorate your own home; you ARE the judge, after all!

Fishing Tournament
Date: 4th Sunday in February
Beginning: 12PM
End: 6PM

The Fishing Tournament lets you participate - along with the animals - in a contest in which only the biggest and longest fish can win. You may use any fish you had before the contest, too (To submit fish, take them to Tortimer and talk to him). If you beat a current record, you will get a prize from the mayor. At the increments of 5, 10, 25, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 170, 200 and 230, Cornimer will award you with a piece from that set.
