Checking museum donations? AC GC

is there any way to check if something you’ve caught has already been donated to the museum besides going to blathers and handing it in? Thank you.

the only way is to check each exhibit sign/plaque manually and mark it off one-by-one

I am glad newer games gave an exhibits option to make things easier. AC:NH does this best by marking donated critters in your Crittipedia as "donated".

This is easily the most annoying thing about GC
The way Blathers' dialogue slows down when you try to donate something already in the museum is just a kick in the shins

not to mention, pressing the B button (or if you play on a keyboard like me, the Z button) does not speed it up. -.-

I think these statements go for donating things in general
