I very strongly prefer Zelda/Link/Ganondorf and I haven't even played any of the Legend of Zelda games. I especially prefer new Ganondorf now 
This trio is general is way more interesting in terms of design
I just don't like Mario. Luigi is great, he should be the main character. Peach... idk, I got mixed feelings about her. I haven't really played any Mario games either, just watched my brother play the one on N64 (and played some Mario Kart/Mario Party)
